The food is great they have really done well. You can tell the difference from o home cooked and home cooked food. Our Server was Will, he is very personable and is happy with what he doesfor a living and it shows. The ambiance is fine. I had the steak Burrito bandito my wife had the quesadilla.
A huge shout out to Baja California in Gardendale for accommodating all of us at SilverSneakers with Misty at 24E Health Clubs in Gardendale with no problems. Not many places can do that, plus the food was great. Gabriel was our waiter and he was absolutely amazing. He brought out six plates of hot food at a time, across one arm! He didn't drop anything. He kept all of the tickets separate, knew who ordered what, asked if we needed anything, and helped me with plates and silverware for the cake. Thanks again, we had an amazing day!
We enjoyed our meal here for dinner. The food came out lightning fast, we were surprised. Service was friendly, and quick. The only thing we found strange was the whole slices of jalapeños in the cheese dip. It was hard to eat. The beef flautas were amazing! The flavor on the beef was incredible. The restaurant was bright and clean with plenty of TVs to watch.

Yelp! We have returned to Baja. Strangely, we ended up at Dabney's table again. He gives amazing service every time! Thanks Dab! Tonight is date night. Bae and I are excited. He loves Mexican food. We especially loves Baja's 3 Amigo dip. It did not disappoint. It came right out after chips and salsa. Only problem, it came out with no small bowls. Dip was getting cold waiting for small bowls. Note the stars. Bae got a fajita and I got a taco salad. What? All this food is good. Yall already know, we coming back. Again and again and again. Keep it up Baja, good service, food and amazing atmosphere. It wins.
This is my family's go-to Mexican place. During Covid, they stayed open and met you at their front door with your order. The manager greets me by name even when I phone in an order (could be because I have the same order every time, but I believe it's because he, like the rest of the staff, are great at their jobs.) Baja California catered my daughter's high school graduation party. And I'm convinced he always drops a couple extra cups of salsa in our order. Prices are great, service is fast. It's just as quick to run in and get a to-go order as it is to eat in at a double table with family (or friends, or coworkers.)

Baja is our "go-to" when we have the taste for Mexican. They get you in fast and the service is speedy too. The servers are always friendly and have a smile. Let's talk food. My wife always gets the spinach and mushroom quesadilla with chicken. It's delicious. I get one of the nacho dishes or the fajitas. Both are fantastic! And, I forgot to mention... I think Baja has the BEST chips and salsa anywhere. The chips are light and crisp. The salsa is perfect. The queso is very good too. Go to Baja's. You'll be glad you did.
Consistently good food and good service.
Came for dinner on a Friday evening around 7 PM and were seated right away. We ordered drinks (the Friday special was the grande margarita for nine bucks and it was GOOD). I really liked how they brought each of us a small bowl of salsa so that we did not have to worry about double dipping. The food was good, the service was attentive and the atmosphere was lively. Don't let the unassuming exterior fool you. It's a great place.
